Specimens are stable up to 3 weeks at 2 - 8 ˚C.

Rejection Criteria / Special Instructions:

Hemolyzed samples should be avoided. Samples should be taken in the morning from patients in a fasting state, since iron values can decrease by 30% during the course of the day.
